MARGARET “PEGGY” BUCHELE (nee McPherrin), age 70 of Portage; formerly of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 07, 2018.

She is survived by her three children: Debbie (Dan) Monaghan, Jon Buchele, Anna (Randy) Reeder; six grandchildren: Jennifer & Eric Phillippe, Logan Buchele, Sarah, Samantha, & Seth Reeder; and her uncle Frank Basco. She is preceded in death by parents Robert & Margaret McPherrin.

She was a longtime and founding member of Life Point Baptist Church in Portage. Peggy loved her church and was very devoted, having served in many capacities there. She loved crafting all sorts of toys, arts, crafts, and even doll houses. She had a real soft heart and love for Pomeranians. She was a retired bookkeeper for the City of Muscantine in Iowa. She recently completed one of her life goals of getting a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting at the age of 67! She was a very loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (2700 Willowcreek, Portage) on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Rev. Brian Cassada officiating. At rest Calvary Cemetery.

I FINALLY found my friend, Peggy. I knew her at Hueneme H.S. and we lived at Pt. Mugu where our fathers served in the Navy. Peggy and I did a lot of mischief together, but I am so glad that our poor choices then did not result in us finding our Lord Jesus Christ. I would have loved to find her on this side, but I'll wait to catch up in heaven. If any of the children/grandies want to know more, please email me. I live in Florida with my husband of 55+ years. She was in on the escapade on the night I met him. JMC

It was my privilege to know Peggy in the capacity of her pastor and to be able to call her, "friend." We are saddened by her loss and grateful for her full health that she now enjoys in the presence of her Saviour.

Peggy loved my daughter and son as pastor and pastor's wife. She always talked about her desire to be able to attend church even up to 3 weeks before she pasted away. We have been praying for her I think over a yr. Now she is with Jesu attending "church". May God comfort her family. She is in his loving arms.

I remember her gentle smile. She was always willing to help out where ever there was a need. She will be sorely missed. Love to all of you. God give you peace.
