Maggie Shapiro, age 35, of Chicago, died Thursday, Nov. 26, and the family was grateful for Maggie's beautiful, loving, peaceful Passing on this Thanksgiving. Funeral Services will be held at Sinai Temple, 2800 Franklin in Michigan City at 11:00, Monday, Burial in Sinai Temple Cemetery. A light lunch following at the Temple Maggie was born May 25, 1974 in Chicago to Gail Winski Stone and Gerald Shapiro, beloved stepdaughter of Marilyn Shapiro.(Minneapolis) She was the beloved granddaughter of Henry and Mildred Winski, beloved sister of Dustin Brown (Indianapolis), Lindsey, Craig and Julia Shapiro (Chicago), adored Aunt of Dylan, Loving niece of Jerry and Barbara Jean Winski, Evelyn Alter and Harriet and Gilbert (deceased) Nathan, , treasured cousin of Tony, Cathy, Ellyn and Max Winski (Chesterton) Nicky, Michael, Emma, Bella and Charlie Bliwas (Glencoe) Rick and Todd Nathan (Northbrook), and abundant, adoring 2nd and 3rd Cousins. . . Maggie attended Francis Parker High School and went on to Ohio State University, to rival her U. of Michigan Mom, Gail, Uncle Jerry and Bopo Henry. She graduated with a BA in Drama and Communication. .A child model/actress since 5, Maggie 'headed to Hollywood', where she fell in love and became proficient (Sales, Management and Design) and productive in the Fashion World – a 'flair' that emulated from her beautiful Nana, Millie. Two years ago, having health challenges from a transplanted liver in 2003, Maggie returned home to live with her mother. As her condition progressed, Maggie was Blessed with being 'Listed' at Rush University Medical Center for a new liver/a New Life. God's 'timing/Plan' was not in alignment, as Maggie courageously 'hung on' – Maggie passed away Thanksgiving Day. Her Mom describes Maggie as a 'People Magnet', always returning home with an 'Adventure'/ a special 'Exchange' with a 'new Friend'. Maggie profoundly 'touched the lives' of everyone she met. She was a beautiful (inside and out), most 'engaging', vibrant, loving and very Spiritual young woman. She will be deeply missed 'in person', but not in our hearts or memories shared. . .
