Ludwig Bishop, age 91 of Merrillville, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016. Ludwig Bishop, age 91 of Merrillville, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016.
He is survived by wife of 67 years, Margaret (nee Silich); two children: Allan (Luella) Bishop and Mary Margaret (John) Hilgart; four grandsons: Mitchell (Alisha) Bishop and Alex Bishop, Jonathan and Justin Hilgart; great-granddaughter, Audrey Bishop; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Ludwig was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He was a World War II veteran in the Marine Corp. Ludwig was member of CFU Lodge #170 and a member of Knights of Columbus Monsignor Ryder Council #4047. He worked at U.S. Steel with 38 years of service as a Safety Engineer.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. and a K of C Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 200 E. 78th Ave., Merrillville with Rev. Jon Plavcan officiating. At rest Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
