Lucille M. Jeffries

Lucille M. Jeffries, age 92, of Trail Creek, went to be with her Lord, December 23, 2008 at the Arbors of Michigan City. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30 at Carlisle Funeral Home, with Rev. Jonathan Rumley officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. Mrs. Jeffries was born October 2, 1916 in Rockport, MO to Conley Bennington and Ella (Slemp) Bennington, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 6, 1945 in Michigan City, she married Vernon Jeffries, he passed away in February of 1975. Surviving are sons Thomas Jeffries and Timothy Jeffries, and daughter Linda Segovia, all of Michigan City, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, sister Katie Kennedy, of Harrisonville, MO, sister-in-law Lois Bennington of Rockport, MO, and many nieces and nephews.. She was preceded in death by brothers Ralph, Donald, Charles and Conley Bennington, and sisters Mozelle Thacker, Gracy McCoy, Beverly Jensen, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jeffries had been a sales clerk with J.C. Penney for many years. Lucille was a devoted Christian and enjoyed teaching her Sunday School class at Southwind Immanuel Church of Christ. She was a devoted Christian and also enjoyed baking and cooking. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
