Lucille H. Olen

Lucille H. Olen nee Chapek, age 87, of Merrillville, IN passed away at Spring Mill Nursing Home Friday, January 23, 2009. Lucille is survived by her husband, Leo Olen; three children: Carol Bob Treber of Ft. Wayne, IN, Patricia Tom Kaye of Lake in the Hills, IL and Paul Sheri Olen of Crown Point; four grandsons: David Katie Kaye, Rick Brandy Kaye, Joseph and Jeffrey Olen; granddaughter, Cathleen Kelley; five great-grandchildren; brother, Bernard Marie Chapek of Knox, IN; three sisters: Lorraine Walter Sieja of Missouri, Theresa James Unnerstall of Olympia Fields, IL and Rita Robertson of Atlanta, GA. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Sandra Treber and parents, Walter and Helen Chapek. Lucille was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church in Merrillville, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union BR81 Jednota. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed doing ceramics, sharing all of her loving creations with her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 26, 2009 directly at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 8303 Taft Street, Merrillville at 10:00 A.M., with Reverend Joseph E. Vamos, officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Friends may meet with the family Sunday, Jan. 25th from 1-5 P.M. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville. Lucille may also be viewed on Monday at Our Lady of Consolation Church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at 10:00 A.M. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Consolation Church for masses in Lucille's name.
