Louis G. Bencie

Louis G. Bencie, age 70, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at home. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dolores, son, Mark Beth Bencie of Morgan Township, grandchildren: Jacob and Joshua Bencie of Morgan Township, brother, Scott Cindy Bencie of Crown Point, sister, Rosemary Lopez of Hobart, brother-in-law, Don Barbara Markle of Crown Point, nieces and nephews: Tammy, Terry and Tim Lopez, Jeff, Kevin, Bruce and Shelly Markle; Cousin, Jackie Jewel of Lowell, IN. Preceded in death by his parents Louis and Mary Bencie. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre, NOTE: NEW LOCATION- 2 blocks east of Broadway at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN with Rev. Joel Sheers officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Mr. Bencie was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Crown Point. He retired with 36 years of service as a supervisor from U.S. Steel. Louis was in the Army Reserves and was and avid Nascar fan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the First Christian Reformed Church of Crown Point.
