Loretta A. Olson, age 79, of Michigan City, died Saturday, April 3 at St. Anthony Memorial, Michigan City. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will take place at Dundee Township Cemetery, Carpentersville, IL. Loretta was born November 10, 1930 in Chicago to William and Florence (Hickstein) Hannett, both of whom preceded her in death. She married George A. Olson on February 19, 1949, he passed away in 1986. Surviving is her son George A. Olson of Michigan City, daughter Lisa Anne (Mary Hammond) Olson of Dixon, IL, grandchildren Dominik (Tricia), Malin and Patrick and great-grandchildren Hunter, Kalee, Destiny and Tony. She was preceded in death by her brothers Edward and William and sisters Florence and Rosella. Loretta was a devoted Christian, wife and mother. She was an ardent fan of the Chicago Cubs. She enjoyed dancing and met her husband while roller skating. She loved QVC, gardening, cooking and classic movies. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
