Leona W. Klosowski, age 97, of Michigan City, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Life Care Center of Michigan City. Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Carlisle Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Klosowski was born October 22, 1912 in Michigan City to Walter and Eva (Kubinski) Movinski, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 10, 1933 in Michigan City, she married Leon “Leo” Klosowski. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1975. She is survived by her children, Carol (Ronald) Swain, New Buffalo, MI, Leon “Tiny” (Mary) Klosowski of Michigan City, and Terry J. (Mary) Klosowski of Warsaw, IN, her grandchildren, Keith, Brian, Steven, Ross, Randy, Greg, Kim, Thomas, Matthew, Mark, Sherrie and Pat, 26 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. Also a Godchild Phyllis Nowatzke. She was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy Flannagan, a granddaughter Suzanne Flannagan, her brothers William Mowinski, Sam Mowinski, and sisters Stella Peckat, Louise Kulesza and Julia Ewers. Beside being a selfless caregiver and homemaker for her family, she also worked for Hoosier Factory as a sewer. She was a past member of The Women of the Moose #935. She was an avid bingo player, spending tme at various bingo halls. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family of multiple generations.
