Lee Raymond Paitsell, age 71, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2009 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, IN. He is survived by his Wife: Cindy Paitsell Ballog of 48 years; Son: David Paitsell of Crown Point, IN, Daughter: Pam Mark Runyon of Lowell, IN, and Son: Daniel Paitsell of Naperville, IL; Grandchildren: Mark Krystal Runyon Jr., Deidra Paitsell, Nicholas Runyon, Jocelyn Paitsell, and Mallory Runyon; Sister: Joela Ribar Paitsell of Portage, IN; Nephews: Marc Lena Ribar and Scott Debbie Ribar. Preceded in death by his Parents: Raymond and Ann Paitsell; Mother-in-law: Frances Ballog; Brother-in-law: Harvey Ribar and Great-Granddaughter: Danica Leigh. Funeral Prayers will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 9:15 AM at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, NOTE: NEW LOCATION at 606 E. 113th Ave. 2 blocks east of Broadway, Crown Point, IN followed by Funeral Services at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St., Crown Point, IN with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Services will conclude at the church with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre on Monday, January 5, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Mr. Paitsell was a graduate of Emerson High School Class of 1955 and joined the U.S. Marine Corp. in 1955 and was discharged as a US Sgt. after serving for 4 years. He married Cindy Ballog in 1960 and worked for Mutual of Omaha for 30 years retiring as a Senior Vice-President in 1994. He opened his own agency with Allstate which he ran for over 14 years, in his retirement he also served as a Commissioner on the Lake County Liquor Board. Mr. Paitsell was an avid sports fan who loved to watch Bears games with his family and loved eating his wife's cooking. To the family of Lee, we send our sincerest sympathy in the loss of such a great man. It was on a cruise several years ago that we met Lee and Cindy and right from the beginning we became close friends. Lee and I would call each other at least once each month with really nothing of real significance to report but just to keep in touch. He always gave me a report of all his family members and you should all take comfort in knowing he loved you all and was so proud of your accomplishments. Sam and I were fortunate enough in visiting with them about three years ago and enjoyed our personal tour of Chicago. Plans were then made for them to visit us in Virginia and he was so looking foward to visiting the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico. We will always have fond memories of our beach excursion Rumba on the Chivawhile in the Carribean and I will miss those calls from my friend, who always referred to me as the ex-Governor of Virginia, but I now understand Cindy and her daughter may come visit with us and that she, her daugher and a granddaughter might even join us on a cruise. In any event, we will remain in touch as good friends should and will always have the fonest memories of our friend, Lee.
