It was a priviledge knowing Lauren. I only knew her through work, however she was a real inspiration. She always had a smile on her face. I will miss seeing her.
Wanda Spudic left a message on June 9, 2008:
I'm so sorry for your loss! Lauren was one of the classiest, sweetest, kindest ladies I ever met. She was so good to me and my boys when we were struggling. She came over to take care of me when I was ill with pnemonia. She always had a smile and a nice word to say. She tried so hard to be what everyone wanted her to be. I'm sorry that we lost touch in the last couple of years of her life. She was a loyal and good friend and I will miss her very much. Sarah, if you need anything, you know how to reach me!

I am very saddened by the news of such a huge loss. I went to school with Mike and Steve. My many visits to the Winski home created so many lasting memories. Laurie was the baby and always so polite and happy. My memories with the Jack and Rosemary Winski family are many, even though it was many years ago. They were always so loving and generous to any person that walked through their doorway. My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Winski, Mike, Steve, Ron, and Betty. You are all such a close, strong and wonderful family. God is with you always. Jim Mohamed

My brave girl, I am so proud of you. You now stand behind us all with your hands on our shoulders, whispering your sweet messages. I had the best of all that you are. In my dreams, we will sneak into West Beach and eat cheeseburgers at Carlsons. You are a part of me and have been since we were 3. We were never apart in our hearts. Each day, as always, I will think of us, all our memories, and smile. I have always known how lucky I am to have you in my life. You are always there, forever in my heart.

I knew Lauren from working at the courthouse. She would always come in with a smile and laughter, even when she ws feeling bad. She was one of the bravest people I have ever known. She never gave up hope during adversity and always had a positive attitude. I admired her so very much. If more people were like Lauren this world would be a much better place. My deepest sympathy to her family and especially her daughter.
Chuck West left a message on June 4, 2008:
Rosemary, Betty Lou and all: How sad I was to read of the passing of this sweet, loving woman. We haven't seen each other in almost 30 years, but my memories of her are filled with the fun and enjoyment we shared as young newly-weds (and before) in Chicago, trying out our wings as adults and laughing at the world around us. How strong then was the sense of family and the mutual support it provided! I'm ashamed not to have done a better job of staying in touch ... but please believe me when I tell you that I am mourning, today, the loss of a dear friend, one I will remember always as worthy of praise and deserving of our love.

My condolences to Sarah and the rest of Lauren's family (and Alicia). She was an inspiration to us here at the Courthouse. She was always so upbeat and courageous. She always had a smile and a laugh throughout her many varied treatments. She will be missed. She was a sweetheart, I am glad to have known her. Sarah: She was so proud of you, she would often tell us of your relationship and what a good daughter you were to her. I hope that you can take comfort in that.

I'll miss seeing her, Always glad I got the chance to meet her. She was very special, ONE OF A KIND!! Please Sarah call if you need anything! Pat.
Greg Winski left a message on June 2, 2008:
Laurie will be missed by those whose lives she touched; She was a wonderful Sister, Mother, Aunt and Cousin. I am proud to have been Laurie Winski's cousin. I especially remember Lou and Rose Winski's 50th wedding anniversay, when the family picture was taken. Aunt Rosemary was holding in her arms the cutest baby girl, with curly hair that the Winski family had seen in years. This was Laurie. You fought a great battle, Cuz. And you Won! You won the hearts of those who love you, you won the hearts of those you have inspired to fight this disease and you won battle for 8 long years. You only lost the battle. The candle flickered and then it went out. We will miss you and know that we love you. Cousins Greg Winski, Darrin Winski, Brad Winski and family, and Megan.
