Kenneth C. Nichols

Kenneth C. Nichols, age 84, of Lakes of the Four Seasons Crown Point, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; daughter: Jeanne; pet dog, “Katie”; brother, Lloyd “Blaine” Donna Nichols; sister-in-law, Barbara Nichols; brother-in-law, Paul Plumer; sister-in-law, Joan Lee Schock; sister-in-law, Ruth Joseph Brauneis; sister-in-law, Betty Massey; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sister, Veda Plumer; brother, Robert Delmer Nichols; and parents: Willie and Zola. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, NOTE: NEW LOCATION at 606 E. 113th Ave. two blocks east of Broadway, Crown Point. Rev. Craig Forwalter officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home with cremation to follow. Mr. Nichols was a devoted husband and father and an avid golfer of Lakes of the Four Seasons golf course. He was a supervisor at LTV Steel retiring in 1986, a foreman at Bridge Shop and a proud Marine serving in World War II in the South Pacific. Kenneth loved to cook and bake bread and later in life took up pen and ink drawing. Memorials may be given to the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, IN.
