Judith A. Penn-Ruhwiedel, age 77, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

Judy is survived by her Husband: Henry Ruhwiedel; Her Children: Judie Moate, Michelle (David) Corrigan, Kimberly (Robert) Koslowski, Dawn Penn, and William Penn Jr; and Her Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her late husband William Penn Sr; Siblings: Catherine, Delores, Mae, and Fredrick; and Grandson: Joshua
Judy retired as an Accountant from Northwest Regional Planning Commission after many years. She was also a Facilitator for Indiana Wesleyan University. She was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. Judy was a life-long learner and Teacher. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, exploring, live music, and was an award winning Arts and Crafts artist of knitting, needlepoint, and painting.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 101 W Burrell Dr, Crown Point, IN 46307.

Interment to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.

I'm grateful for knowing Judy through these years. Yes, many wonderful times in the past, and also more recently with Henry. The Dunes, the Acres, food & stores & crafts, church, Yanni music and just doing drive-by visits once in a while ... it was always good enough for her. Condolences to the whole family & freinds. So, until we meet again on the other side, _RIP_ Judy: may you _Revel In Paradise_. Pete

Judy was my best friend. She was my Matron of Honor at my wedding. We've known each other for 60+ years. We were classmates in high school. We spoke to each other at least once a week. She could make me laugh even when I was feeling down. There is no one like Judy. She was good-hearted and generous, but don't get on her bad side. What a loveable character! I miss her terribly already. Rest in peace, girlfriend. You are so loved!

Judy- When I think of you, I think of you walking down our street coming to tell Billy it was time to come home after a long day of playing. I also remember when I interviewed you for a school assignment. I will never forget that one on one time we had together. Thank you for those memories. May you rest in peace, Judy. Now you may enjoy a meal and maybe a glass of wine with my Mom. Cheers.

So sorry for the loss of dear Judy. Glad to have known her. Blessings & peace.

I am sad to hear that Judy is no longer with us. I was her hospital chaplain during Bill’s illness and grew fond of them both. I feel blessed Judy gave me one of her hand knitted afghans, which she made for me during Bill’s long hospitalization. I love it and use it all time. I recall during our visits how much she loved her family. I pray God’s Peace, Love, And Grace bring you comfort and strength for the days ahead as you mourn and celebrate her life.

Judy and I go way back, over 40 years. I just found out today and am so sad. We had lots of beautiful memories especially when the kids were small. Bob and I will be praying for Henry and all the kids and grandkids. God bless you all. Judy, I will miss you friend.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your sweet mama made me hot plate holders and I use them daily. She was incredibly kind and thoughtful. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
