Josephine “Josie” Nestler, age 87 of Crown Point, formerly of Glen Park, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009. Josephine is survived by her 5 children, Joanne late Jack Filler of Demotte, Tina David Munson of Lake Village, Linda Steve Line of Portage, Mary Ann Ed Parlock of Kouts, and John Nestler of Crown Point; 10 grandchildren, Michael Denise, late Joseph and Sarah Filler, Amanda Shannon Andrews, Jonathan Munson, Anthony Line, Melissa Bill McCall, Eric Valerie Parlock, Julianna Andrew Riecken and Jillian Mike Pancini; 10 beloved great-grandchildren, Skyler, Ashton, Alyssa, Maggie, Grace, Christian, Briannah, Josey, Lillian and Helena; sister, Nellie Sabljak; numerous loving nieces, nephews & cousins; and special caregivers & friend, Barbara. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Nestler; parents; sister, Mary Camarata; son-in-law, Jack Filler and grandson, Joseph Filler. Our mom's loving, kind, generous nature could not be surpassed. She was always there to hold and console, heal our sickness and dry our tears with her loving hugs and kisses. Never a day would go by without her saying I love you. Mom found much joy being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each of them hold special memories of her loving kindness in their hearts. She devoted her life to her family, keeping an immaculate house and a kitchen filled with food. All who entered her domain could not leave without eating. Her meatballs and lasagna are remembered by many to this day. Mom's love transcended beyond her family into the lives of all she knew. She will be sadly missed and remain in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, with Rev. Robert Gehring officiating. Friends may visit with the family Friday, March 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
