Josephine Mae Miazga (nee Elrod), age 98, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Josephine is survived by her children: Lewis Miazga, Jr., William C. (late Georgia) Miazga, Susan (Rick) Shockley; grandchildren: Louise, Amy, Rick (Jessica), Misty (Chris), Christina (Marcin); great-grandchildren: Haley, Alison, Brooklynn, Jack, Ava; sisters: Frankie (late Bud) Raboin, Helen (late Bob) Danko; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; parents: Franklin and Elizabeth Elrod; and sisters: Florabelle (William) Tuttle, Evelyn (George) Blanchard.

Josephine was a devoted member of Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, Hobart Art League, and many senior clubs. She was an avid painter and served as a lunch assistant at Aetna School in the 1960s.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, 801 W 73rd Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410 from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.

Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Josephine’s name to Holy Martyrs Catholic Church.
