JOSEPH VASSALLO, age 76 of Crown Point, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty (nee Kenseth); son, Joseph Mark (Maria) Vassallo; daughter, Deanna Vassallo; five grandchildren; sister, Mary (Warren) Harman; sister-in-law, Judy Vassallo; and his nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, Lena Vassallo; father, James (Antoinette) Vassallo; brother, James Vassallo, Jr.

Mr. Vassallo was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and was a retired supervisor from NIPSCO. Joe also was an avid golfer. He was a Gold Card member and past Secretary-Treasurer of Gary Sportsmen Club.

Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service, 811 E. Franciscan Dr., (south of St. Rd. 231 on St. Rd. 55) Crown Point, on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 9:30 am. from Pruzin & Little Chapel and 10:00 am. from St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St., Crown Point, with Rev. Pat Kalich officiating. Cremation will follow the Mass and he will later be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
