John W. Pearce, age 51, of Michigan City, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at his home in Michigan City. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 25 at 2:00p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m until the service at the funeral home. John was born July 26, 1958 in Michigan City to Charles H. and Mildred C. (Butts) Pearce. His father preceded him in death, his mother survives in Michigan City. Also surviving are brothers and sisters Hubert (Helen) Pearce of Pensacola, FL, Roy Pearce, Robert “Bob” (Cheryl) Pearce, both of Michigan City, Arthur Pearce of South Bend, David and Ross Pearce of Michigan city, Rosemary Turnes of Warsaw, IN, Josephine (Danny) Cunningham of Michigan City, Peggy (Scott) Proffitt of TX and Florence Pearce, Michigan City, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Charles H. Pearce, Jr., Henry Pearce, Thomas Pearce and Mert Pearce. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He enjoyed photography, electronic games, bicycling and fishing. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.

John is my brother and he will be missed. He liked his photography, video games, cooking, cars - he was even collecting some and he liked his books of houses for sale. We always called them dreambooks but it was fun to look at the homes and what they had with them like lots of acreage, barns, jacuzzi's, swimming pools, tennis courts and looking at the really nice ones and of course dream that some day..... This came from back in our childhood when we lived in Arkansas.
