JOHN KRUPER age 70 of Portage passed away Friday March 16 2012. He is survived by wife: Pam (nee Hornyak) of 20 years mother: Mary Kruper of Pennsylvania in-laws: Anna Hovanec of Lake Station Terry (Kathy) Hornyak of Valparaiso Johnna (David) Foshee of South Carolina Peggy Armstrong of Hobart Ruth (Mick) Pappano of Arizona several nieces nephews great-nieces and great nephews and his beloved Westie Murphy. Mr. Kruper was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church. John was a member of the B.P.O Elks Hobart Lodge #1152 and golfed with the Elks golf league. He was currently employed with Regional Mental Health. John was a former bartender with the Hobart Elks Lodge and a supervisor at Trump Casino. John served in the United States Army. Friends and Family may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Service (2700 Willowcreek Rd. Portage) on Monday March 19 2012 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with an Elks service at 5:30 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday March 20 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers chapel and 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church 2949 Willowcreek Rd Portage with Rev. Andrew Corona officiating. At rest Calvary Cemetery Portage.

John was a true people person. Everyone who had contact with him at Regional thought he was a wonderful kind an patient man. He will be missed by many folks here. With deepest sympathy and many prayers to his family-- Nancy

Simply one of the funniest men that Ive every had the honor of personally knowing and had the good fortune of working with. John was quick-witted and likely to rip on you about something but you that just meant he liked you. John had so many of these sayings.. funny funny sayings. I wish I could remember more of them. I wish I would have written them down. They were classic. John used his command of the comical to brighten peoples day or to take the sting out of some otherwise painful situation. There are so many other qualities John had the lent to his strength of character that made John a true friend to so many he touched. So right now I find myself comforted by this remembering of John and his ways. My deepest condolences to Johns wife Pam his family and his little buddy Murphy. May he rest in peace and have a good audience up in heaven.

I have know John for many yearsI was the one who hire him to come to work at Southlake at the time .John has a kind heart and was very much in love with life and his wife.He would act tough went it came to Murry but that dog was his joy. John was a very funny man. One that could tell a joke and knew how to tell a story. He could make a bad day into one of the funniest days. I am so glad I had the pleasure to work with him and know him.
