John Paul Renner, Jr., age 72, of Merrillville, IN, formerly of Glen Park, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

John is survived by his children: Jason (Rachel) Renner and Megan Lawlor; grandchildren: Connor James Lawlor, Eleanor Rose Renner and Charlotte Jane Renner; his nieces, nephews and good friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents: John Renner and Jean Kitowski; two brothers: Phillip and Michael Renner.

John was born and raised in the Glen Park section of Gary. He was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Class of 1969. John was a retired truck driver with Teamsters Local #142 having worked for various companies, including Brumm’s Distributing and L&L Cartage. He was active in his younger years coaching youth sports, especially his children’s and loved playing golf on the Oak Knoll Thursday night league.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 11:00 AM until the time of Memorial Service at 1:00 PM with Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski officiating.
