John H. Boe Jr.

JOHN H. BOE JR. age 82 of Crown Point passed away Monday June 1 2009. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Florence (nee Homeier) daughter Melissa L. (Joseph) Martinez of Schererville granddaughter Bianca Marie Martinez of Schererville two sisters-in-law: Helen Homeier and Lilly Homeier both of Crown Point several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents John and Minna Boe. John was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Crown Point. He was the Owner of Boe Farm Equipment Sales a charter member and past treasurer of the South Lake County Agricultural Historical Society Lake Co. Agricultural Society and the Lake County Courthouse Foundation. He was a 40-year member and past treasurer of the Calumet District Dartball team and was recently inducted in their Hall of Fame. John was a World War II Navy veteran and member of American Legion Post #20. He and Florence have spent the last 26 years wintering in Jensen Beach Florida. John loved to travel having visited all 50 states Europe China and many other countries. Friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service 811 East Franciscan Drive (on State Road 55 south of State Road 231) Crown Point Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Legion service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday June 4 2009 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church 250 S. Indiana Ave. Crown Point with Rev. David Easterday officiating. Visitation one half hour prior to service. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery Merrillville. Memorials preferred to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
