John Fastero

JOHN FASTERO age 88 of California formerly of Valparaiso and Gary passed away on Sunday February 26 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Pauline. He is survived by their children John Alan (Rebecca) Fastero of South Bend and their daughter Denise (John) Lovinger and two great granddaughters : Katherine (Tim) Campbell and Sarah Lovinger Jim (Jeanne) Fastero of Crown Point and their children: Gina (fianc Paul Hills) Fastero Lisa ( Dustin) Blink and James Fastero. He is survived by his second wife Nancy and her children Cathy Dunning and her daughter Jennifer Graham Ralph (Nikki) Fas and their children Denise and Daniel Raymond (Jennifer) Fas and their daughter Megan. His sister Mathilda Chappo also survives. John was a former member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was a retired supervisor from 2-10 Plate Mill Gary Works U. S. Steel with 41 years of service. John was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of Froebel High School Class of 1942. John was an avid fisherman camper and he enjoyed traveling. He was a devoted husband father and grandfather. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 2700 Willowcreek Rd. Portage on Friday March 2 2012 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 3 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church 356 W. 700 N.
