Valerie Johnson left a message on January 23, 2004:
To Linda and John, my heart aches for both of you.I am so sorry for your loss. ALthough I only saw John at the NIHPA show,I quickly saw that he was a very special person. His love of working with son John on tractors was visable to anyone who saw the two of you together. John was a man of honor, intergrity, a hard worker, and someone who loved his family with all of his heart. He was a great friend to all that knew him. I know that the last few years have been hard on the family, but I believe god has a plan for everyone, even if we on earth question the path to heaven. For myself and those at NIHPA, John will never be forgot. His memorial will live on in the things he has taught his son. I have watched John grow up over the past years with his involvement with NIHPA and hope to continue to be able to see him grow. I, along with other members of NIHPA consider John to be like one of our own kids, and he and Linda with always be part of the NIHPA family. We now have an angel in heaven wathching over all of us. If there is anything that I or our group can do to help you in your time of grief or in the future, we are just a call away. With our deepest sympathy and love Valerie Johnson, President NIHPA
