John Carr Weimer Jack, age 87, of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away on August 22, 2009. He was born May 19, 1922, in Omaha, Nebraska, son of John A. and Mabel L. Carr Weimer. Graduated in 1940 from Central High School, St. Joseph, Missouri. He worked at Armour and Company Meat Packers and American Steel Foundries both in Chicago in the 1940s. Proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in World War II 1942-1945 during which he participated in action in the North Solomon Islands and also served during the Korean Conflict 1950-1951. John worked at Pullman Standard in Hammond from 1948 except for years spent in active duty where he was employed as supervisor in the testing division until Pullman Standard closed their doors in 1981. He was a member of Eastlake Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his infant sister, Mabel Alyce Weimer, and his granddaughter, Jackie Weimer. Survived by his wife, Mary Moser Weimer; one son, Robert Deborah Weimer of Dana Point, California; three daughters, Jane Graegin of Houston, Texas; Phyllis Thomas Schroeder of Hartland, Wisconsin; Patricia Thomas Adams of DeWitt, Michigan. Step children: Marilyn Harold Wayne McLemore of Crown Point, Boyd Stanley Patricia Moser of Memphis, Tennessee, Charles David Betty Moser of Glendale, Arizona, many grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 10:00 AM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre NOTE: NEW LOCATION-2 blocks east of Broadway at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN with Pastor Rick Hillard officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
