John B. Page, age 83, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loretta Page (nee Zapinski); 3 children: David Page, James (Lori) Page and Karen (Steve) Krutz; 6 grandchildren: Dan (Colleen) Page, Jeff (Amanda) Page, Jimmy Page, Adam Page, Bryan (Alesia) Campbell and Ashley (Tony Aguilar) Campbell; 6 great-grandchildren: Dylan Page, Finley, Rio and Niko Aguilar, Rigley and Hadley Campbell; brother, Richard (Debra) Page; sister, Ruth (John) Appel; sister-in-law, Suzanne Page; and John’s many nieces, nephews and good friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents: Howard and Esther Page; and brother, Robert Page.

John was born on February 20, 1939 and raised in the Brunswick section and Calumet Township area of Gary, IN. He was a graduate of Calumet High School, Class of 1957. John then began his long career as an electrician and motor inspector at Inland Steel with over 42 years of service. He loved to hunt, read western books by Louis L’Amour and root for his teams: Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals. John was a longtime and faithful member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and was a current member of Holy Martyrs Catholic Church. He also loved to watch John Wayne movies, Jeopardy and cook meals for his family and friends. John was a great husband and father who coached his kids sports teams and loved going to his grandkids events. He will be loved and missed by all.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, 801 W. 73rd Ave. Merrillville, IN 46410 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ted Mauch officiating.
