Joel R. Bolkovatz, age 87, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023.
Joel is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillian Bolkovatz (nee Murias); children: Joellyn (Drew) Swenson of Chester, VA., Jill (Eric) Grusak of Highland, IN and Matthew J. (Chastidee) Bolkovatz of Lyons, CO; grandchildren: Avery, Payton, Evan, Henry, Joely, Anika and Liliana; sister, Jean Ziese; and several nieces and nephews.
Joel was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. He worked as a union electrician for the Gary Public School System for over 50 years and was a United States Army Veteran. Joel was a good husband and father and he loved his grandchildren very much.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 8:45 AM with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 AM at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 101 W. Burrell Dr. Crown Point, IN 46307 with Fr. James Wozniak officiating.
