JOANN BONO (nee FURLIN), age 80 of Merrillville, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014. She is survived by three daughters: Angela (Brian) Benjamin, Shirley Bono, Judy Bono; two sons: John (Stephanie) Bono, Jr., Robert (Deanna) Bono; five grandchildren: Nicole (Paul) Wilson, Amanda & Samantha Vetterick, Claudia & Ella Bono; great-grandchildren:Alexis & Kynzley Wilson; sister-in-law Letitia Furlin, and many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by husband John; brother Samuel Furlin; parents Joseph & Angelina Furlin. Mrs. Bono was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Froebel High School, received her Master’s degree in teaching from Indiana University Northwest, and served as a school teacher for the Gary Diocesan School System for over 40 years. Joann belonged to the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Women of the Moose, Chapter 249. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway, Merrillville) on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Delta Kappa Gamma Society service at 5:15 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (330 East 45th Ave., Gary) with Rev.
