Jill L. Nelson nee Reichardt, age 47, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, IN. She is survived by her husband, Tom; 4 children, Eric Laura, Leigh, Joey, and Tommye Nelson; 3 grandchildren, Angel, Derrick, and Jacob; 1 sister, Jamie Mark Banashak of Merrillville, IN; nieces, Katie and Mandy Banashak; brother-in-laws, Tim Denise Nelson, Steve Candace Nelson, Mark Nelson and David Tammy Nelson; nieces and nephews; 2 uncles, William Gerrie Kimble of Crown Point, IN and William Elsie Reichardt of Lombard, IL; numerous loving cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Geisen Funeral Home in Merrillville, IN. Services will conclude at the funeral home with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. Jill and Tom were members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where Jill was a former director of Sunday School and formerly involved with Merrillville Pop Warner and a Pierce Middle School Pom Pom coach. She was a 1980 graduate of Merrillville High School and a fun loving mother, grandmother and sister. Jill was a friend to everyone and loved trips to IKEA, the beach and jammed to disco music. Dear Tom and Family and Dearest Jamie and Family....we cannot tell you how sad we are that Jill is gone - way too soon!! We have so many fond and funny memories of family vacations and bowling and golf outings that we shared together. Ed is feeling his age going to be 81 in February and he is not well. He is dependant on a walker to get around - is on kidney dialysis 3 times a week and has numerous other physical problems - so we will not be able to be with you at this most difficult time - but please know that you are all in our prayers as you go forward.
