Jeffrey A. Mitchell, age 63, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Franciscan Health. He was born on July 13, 1960 to Claude E. and Ruby B. (McColley) Mitchell who preceded him in death.

Jeff is survived by his children: Roslyn (Shawn) Jackson, Georgia (Donnie) Demo, Jeffrey (Tracey) Mitchell Jr., and Nina (Bryan) Czerwinski; grandchildren: Sierra, John, Bryan, Brianna, Alisha, Ava, Cristian, Landon, and Jace; brother: Terry (Kathey) Mitchell; half-brother: Roger; sister: Kathy; and beloved support dog: Misty.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Lynette.

Jeff was a skilled automotive mechanic and a supervisor at both Flying J and TA Travel Centers. He loved taking care of his fish and plants, and feeding the wild birds. He enjoyed attending church services at Grace Church in Portage, reading the Bible and listening to Gospel TV preachers. Jeff was an amazing story teller and loved his family very much. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will take place. Information will be provided in the near future.
