Jeanne C. Jacobs, age 87, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Jeanne is survived by 2 children: Robert Halina Jacobs of Crown Point, IN and Randi Richard Frisbie of Indianapolis, IN; 3 grandchildren: Jamie Kevin James, Soctt Jacobs and Jeffrey Samantha Jacobs; 4 great-grandchildren: Andrew and Kathleen James and Madaline and Zachary Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Jacobs; sister, Dolores Charlton and son, James Richard Jacobs A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM directly at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 801 W. 73rd Ave., Merrillville, IN with Rev. Brian Chadwick officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday, March 19th from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Jeanne was a 2nd grade teacher at Aquinas School in Merrillville. She was a member of Michigan State University Alumni Association, Betta Gamma Epsilon Alumni Association, St. Mary's Junior League, Alpha Chi Omego Alumni Association and St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary in Hobart.
