Janice E. Chambers of Michigan City, age 69, died Saturday December 5th at her residence. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11:00 A.M. at the Carlisle Funeral Home, with Rev. John Hogan officiating. Burial to follow at Greenwood cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday 3:00 –7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Chambers was born on March 1, 1940 to James and Alice Margraf in Michigan City , both of whom have preceded her in death. On July 6, 1957 she was united in marriage to George Chambers who survives. She is survived by her daughter, Margie (Tom) Burke of South Bend. Grandson Tommy Burke of South Bend. Niece and Nephews, Mark (Vicki) Burton of ; Tammy (Bo) Johnson ; Mickey (Mary) Chambers Tim (Chris) Chambers of along with many more nieces and nephews. Brother and Sister-in-laws, Wallace Chambers; Donnie (Diane) Chambers ; Ronnie Chambers; and Gary Chambers all of Michigan City. She was preceded in death by her Brother-in-law Doug Chambers. Mrs. Chambers was employed at Berkel of La Porte for many years as an inspector. Mrs. Chambers was active in local organizations, including being Past Senior Regent of Women of the Moose # 935. She also was an avid bowler, where she competed across the country on various leagues. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson Tommy.
