James T. Blakemore

James T. Blakemore, age 41, of Michiana Shores, died Tuesday, December 15 at his home in Michiana Shores. The service will be held Saturday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home with military rites conducted after the service by American Legion Post 451 Skwiat Post and VFW Post 2536. Visitation will be from noon until the service Saturday at the funeral home. Jim was born June 11, 1968 in Harvey, IL to James A. and Lorraine (Nietfeldt) Blakemore, his father passed away in 2006, his mother survives in Valparaiso. Also surviving is his sister Ann “Bobbi” (Jackson) Watkins of Newaygo, MI, brothers Thomas J. (Kathleen) Blakemore of Flossmoor, IL, William J. Blakemore of Michiana Shores, David M. (Cheryl) Blakemore of Warsaw, IN, and Joel D. Blakemore of Michiana Shores, nieces and nephews Katie, Julie, TJ, Jenny, Chip, Mike, David, Blake and Carley, and his 3 loyal companions Holly, Snoopy and Spike Jim was multi-talented in home improvement and construction. He was a 1987 Elston High School graduate and was on the wrestling team. He also was a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany 1990-1994. He was a member of Countryside Christian Church and attended various bible classes at many churches. He was also an avid fisherman.
