During the years that I knew Jim we had several temporary roles as classmates teammates roommates and even co-workers. Jims traits were evident in his early years as organized meticulous to finest of detail thrifty and honest in how he felt and communicated his feelings to others. He remained constant with these traits without concerns to political opinion or affiliations With my departure from the Midwest I always marveled that Jim could provide an update on any persons whereabouts or how the person was doing. Jim was in the know. My last conversation with Jim was on his birthday. He was at a gathering place where his friends were present. In the call we discussed Lynn their grandchildren other family members and his new position with the Sheriffs department. Jim also always asked about my wife daughter and my baseball. The conversation was about all the things that he felt were important. We know that one of Jims roles were to protect the citizens of Lake County that he served for over three decades. What we will never know is the number of people he influenced in how he acted and did not act in various situations. Jims most important roles were a husband grandfather son brother uncle partner and many more but for me he was a dear friend The way that Jim was always Jim will allow him to always be with us and remember how he lived how he loved and how he was loved by others.

Please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your dear Jim. We knew Jim when he was 21 or 22 and just starting out in the world. As a matter of fact we went out together on a couple of double-dates. He was a sweet loving person with a heart of gold. We saw each other few times throughout the years and it always felt warm- just like old times as all good friendships should. He will be greatly missed. God Bless.

Our condolences to Lynn & family. We had only met Jim & Lynn a few years ago on the dock in Michigan City but we had lots of fun and great memories. Jim always enjoyed a ride on our boat so he and Lynn could set back and enjoy the sunsets.
