JAMES MIKEBEAUDRY age 65 of Portage passed away Thursday January 26 2012 after a short fierce battle with small-cell lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Rose children: Connie Beaudry of Hobart Kirk Beaudry of Elkhart Tammy (Keith) Colvin of Portage Warren (Sarah) Holland of VA five grandchildren: Derek Dillon Kaytlyn Briana Peyton two great-grandchildren: Landon and Daphne aunts uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his son Scott Beaudry and parents Erwin and Savannah. Mike was an employee of MVP currently known as Team Imports of Merrillville with 38 years of service. He was a graduate of River Forest High School Class of 1965. Mike was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. His hobbies included model railroading gun collecting and he enjoyed fishing and trap shooting. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 2700 Willowcreek Rd. Portage on Sunday January 29 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow promptly at 5:00 p.m. at Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Rev. Andrew Corona officiating. Michael was always happy…always hungry…with a big preference for desserts.

I met Mikey when we were 18 months old. He was my next door neighbor and my best friend. My mother and his mother Savannah were best friends. One of my favorite memories is playing cowboys and cowgirls with Mikey while he wore his state-of-art cowboy outfit. He was so proud of the outfit that his Father Eddy bought him. We played with his Lionel train set that any train owner would be proud to have. Back then I thought for sure we would get married and think I asked him to marry me when we were 4. The photo of him and the Model-A Ford reminded me of the times Mikey and I were standing in the backseat going for a ride. I have a lot of memories to share of him from the time he was 18 months to 18 years old feel free to email me and I would be happy to share them with his children and grandchildren. I was so sad to hear the news of his passing. He and his wife surprised me at my 50th birthday party and sadly that was the last time I saw Mikey. I will always love him he was like a brother to me and my brother and a son to my parents.

He was an amazing Grandpa. I can still hear his voice and his laugh and i can see that huge smile on his face and feel the warmth of his hug. Hell forever be in my heart.

I am so sorry for the family with the loss of Mike. I only met him once but he was very kind to me. My only offer of comfort that I can give at this moment is that I am postive Scott welcomed him with open arms and they can now watch over the family together.
