James E. Chaddock

November 25, 1947 - December 7, 2009

James E. Chaddock, age 62, of Beverly Shores, died Monday, December 7, 2009 of Mesothelioma at home in the arms of his wife and children. Funeral services will be Friday, December 11 at 1:00p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home with his son as Master of Ceremonies. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Jim was born November 25, 1947 in Omaha, NE to Robert F. and Jeanette M. (Birge) Chaddock, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 22, 1971 he married Theresa L. Sischo, she survives in Beverly Shores. Also surviving are his son James E. (fiancé Andrea J. Georgion) Chaddock Jr. of Beverly Shores, daughter Melissa A. (Paul) Brajcki of Michigan City, grandchildren Oliver James Chaddock, Madison Newbanks, Mason Newbanks and Ella Brajcki, brothers and sisters Jackie (Bud) Fox-Omaha, NE, Robert (Ruthann) Chaddock and Steve (Estelle) Chaddock, both of Portage, Christine (Paul) Morales of West Pueblo, CO, Lynne Monacy and Barbara (Jim) Christensen, both of Winamac. Jim was a technician with Mittal Steel and formerly as Bethlehem Steel for 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the 11th Armored Calvary serving in Vietnam, and a member of VFW Post #2536. Jim was a family man. He was a lifelong car and motorcycle enthusiast and also enjoyed fishing and boating. He enjoyed playing dominoes with his grandchildren. He loved to learn new skills, working on anything with an engine or wheels. He built his own house and was known as the “go to man” for anything. He had a sound work ethic and his integrity was untouched. He will be dearly remembered. Memorial contributions may be made to the Steelworkers Memorial Fund.

Larry and I were fortunate to have spent many wonderful hours over the last 30+ years with Jim and Theresa. We will always be thankful to have shared many good times filled with laughter, discussions,and of course,game time.The many memories of our friendship with Jim are treasures that we will carry with us always. Theresa, Jimmy, and Melissa--take comfort in knowing that sorrow is a fleeting emotion but love is infinite. Jim was a very loving husband and father and we know that you will continue to feel and cherish the love that he had for all of you.Take heart,as time will soften the edges and ease your burden. Your memories won't be erased and you will continue to carry them as a legacy of his love. We wish you strength and peace during this difficult time.

Dear Chaddock cousins, I am very sad that Jim has left this life. I have very fond memories of him when he was a little guy and your family lived here in Omaha--And then at the mini-reunion we had at Cedar Falls some years ago. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Diana

I'm so sorry to here of Jim's passing.I'll carry with me fond memories of him,It was always a delight to be in his company,he surely was a family man and I remember his joy and gentle nature with Amber and Adam when they were born.Since I had'nt seen him in so long ,my memories will be of the younger,vibrant Jim bounding around from the house ,to the grill ,or out to the garage,or off who knows where helping someone how ever he could.
