James E. Chaddock, age 62, of Beverly Shores, died Monday, December 7, 2009 of Mesothelioma at home in the arms of his wife and children. Funeral services will be Friday, December 11 at 1:00p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home with his son as Master of Ceremonies. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Jim was born November 25, 1947 in Omaha, NE to Robert F. and Jeanette M. (Birge) Chaddock, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 22, 1971 he married Theresa L. Sischo, she survives in Beverly Shores. Also surviving are his son James E. (fiancé Andrea J. Georgion) Chaddock Jr. of Beverly Shores, daughter Melissa A. (Paul) Brajcki of Michigan City, grandchildren Oliver James Chaddock, Madison Newbanks, Mason Newbanks and Ella Brajcki, brothers and sisters Jackie (Bud) Fox-Omaha, NE, Robert (Ruthann) Chaddock and Steve (Estelle) Chaddock, both of Portage, Christine (Paul) Morales of West Pueblo, CO, Lynne Monacy and Barbara (Jim) Christensen, both of Winamac. Jim was a technician with Mittal Steel and formerly as Bethlehem Steel for 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the 11th Armored Calvary serving in Vietnam, and a member of VFW Post #2536. Jim was a family man. He was a lifelong car and motorcycle enthusiast and also enjoyed fishing and boating. He enjoyed playing dominoes with his grandchildren. He loved to learn new skills, working on anything with an engine or wheels. He built his own house and was known as the “go to man” for anything. He had a sound work ethic and his integrity was untouched. He will be dearly remembered. Memorial contributions may be made to the Steelworkers Memorial Fund.
