IRENE KALLOK age 90 of Griffith passed away Wednesday June 4 2008 at Community Hospital in Munster. Irene was born April 10 1918 to John and Julia Maruhnick in Gary Indiana. Survived by son Joseph Bob(Cathy) Kallok of Griffith daughters: Nancy Kallok and Karen Kallok both of Griffith grandson John Michael Kallok 2 sisters: Mary (Late Gilbert) Schroeder of Highland Julia (Late Don) Dilley of Crown Point brother-in-law Paul (Barbara) Clifton of Munster 4 sister-in-laws: Helen (Late Andrew) Kallok of Hobart Lee (Late John) Kallok of California Sister Andrew (Elizabeth) Kallok of Pennsylvania Shirley (Late John) Maruhnick of Merrillville nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents John and Julia Maruhnick husband Joseph Kallok brother John Maruhnick and Sister Margaret Clifton. Mrs. Kallok was a lifelong member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church. A GCU member of Lodge # 66 and Royal Neighbors of America since 1934. A graduate of Horace Mann High School class of 1935. She was employed at Bear Brand Hoisery factory before marrying Joseph Kallok of January 29 1939. Irene enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening sewing and was a Cubs and Bears fan. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville on Sunday 2-6 P.M. with a rosary at 2:00 P.M. &amp a prayer service at 2:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held Monday June 9 2008 at 9:30 from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. from St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church 570 West 57th Avenue with Rev. Michael Evanick. Dear Karen Nancy Bob and Cathy I was so sad to hear about your mom. I know how difficult it is to lose a parent. I have so many memories of Aunt Irene and you my cousins and all of our childhood years of getting together at Grandma and Grandpas. Although I have lived in Colorado and Georgia all of my adult years and do not get to see you often. I am so glad that I did come to see Aunt Irene and you Karen and Nancy this past year when I was in Indiana. Please know you have been in our thoughts and prayers. Bob and CathyNancy and Karen My heart goes out to you. I remember visiting as a kid with my Mom and picking raspberries apples carrots tomatoes and beans. I was always amazed by your Moms garden.
