John was a man of deep faith. He regularly attended services and was a member of SS Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral with his wife Nina for over 55 years.
John was a man of great integrity and believed in hard work. John traveled the world with the Greek Merchant Marines and then came to America and built a life for his wife and family. He worked for 15 years at the US Steel Mill in Gary, IN. He left the mill to work with his family as co-owner of Minos in Michigan City, IN for over 20 years. John was known for his kind, gentle soul and treated everyone he met with dignity and respect. He treated the people who worked with him as his own family and was beloved by many of his employees and customers alike.
Above all, John was a family man. Nothing made him happier than time with his family, his wife, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and close friends. His most recent outing was with his family and grandchildren, where they spent time watching his youngest grandchild play hockey. He was extremely proud of all of his grandchildren and took great joy in being with them.
