Howard Osborne age 85, of Michigan City, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Care, Michigan City.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p. m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Posey Chapel Cemetery with full military rites by Skwiat Post 451 and VFW Post 2536 American Legion. Howard was born January 13, 1924 in Chicago, IL to George Thomas and Jessie Ophelia ( Howard) Osborne both of whom preceded him in death. He married Lulu Provines on March 1, 1947 in Chicago, IL. She survives in Michigan City.
Also surviving are son Steve (Deborah) Osborne of Michigan City and daughter Judy Schroader of Michigan City, and grandchildren Michael (Gabrielle) Schroader, Linda (Jody) Musgrave, Michele (Chris) McKeehan, Kathy (Phil) Anderson, Felicia (Kevin ) Bartholomew, Valerie (Bernie) Clanton and Frank Wroblewski, 9 great-grandchildren, a sister Shirley Dove, Bay City, TX and many nieces and nephews. A sister and a brother proceeded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII He attended Earl Road Christian Church, was member of Skwiat Post No. 451 American Legion. And member of the Battle of the Bulge Memorial contributions may be made to Fun Follies c/o Swanson Center of LaPorte
