Helen Medina

Helen Medina, age 86 of Portage, formerly of Gary, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann John Eckhart of Portage; proud grandmother of: Michelle Shurman of Indianapolis, John Kouvakas, Stacy Delany Campbell, and Sherry Greg Wozny Brown; great-grandmother of: Sydney, Brandon, Abigail, Alex, Max, Alexis, Aiden, Isabella, and Amelia; beloved niece & nephew: Katherine Cuevas and Spiro Judith Kouvakas. Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Kouvakas. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 10:00 AM directly at Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison St., Merrillville, with Rev. Theodore Poteres and Rev. Chris Margellos officiating. Interment to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary. Friends may visit with the family at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN on Wednesday, April 28th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Helen was a member of Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was a retired employee of the Anderson Company.
