Helen Elizabeth Young Rosenthal, age 101, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Wittenberg Lutheran Village. Helen was born in Hebron, IN. She lived her adult life in the Crown Point area. She married Edward Rosenthal on June 21, 1930. Helen was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Ruth Circle, and worked in the resale shop. For many years she was a member of the Riley Homemakers and the Leroy Fidelis Woman's Club. She enjoyed gardening. Her garden included flowers and vegetables. Helen had a green thumb. She was a knitter and a seamstress and kept her hands busy with needles. She is survived by her daughter: Phyllis Hill; granddaughters: Barbara Gregg Williams of Merrillville and Sue Greg McMillen of Zionsville, IN; 3 great-grandsons: Michael, Mitchell, and Marshall McMillen; brother: Keith Katie Young of Merrillville, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Matilda Mitsch Young; husband: Edward on September 21, 1977; son-in-law: James M. Hill on August 26, 2002; sister: Edna Ziese Yoder on January 4, 2007, and brother: Kenneth Young. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at The First Presbyterian Church, 218 S. Court St., Crown Point, IN, with Pastor Kathy Keener-Han officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen's name to the Memorial Foundation of the First Presbyterian Church of Crown Point.
