Helen A. Eaton, age 78 of Merrillville passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Merrillville, where she served as a Deacon and cared for the nursery at church for 31 years. Helen was also a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association; Red Hats Society, Yesterdays Little Girls Chapter; Hub Dollies, and a previous member of the Ross Township Historical Society. She was an antique dealer and worker at the Old Town Square Antique Mall in Crown Point and did many antique shows. Helen was an avid collector/dealer, appearing on a nationally syndicated show “Personal FX Collectors”. She loved many sports teams including the Chicago Black Hawks and Bears. Helen is survived by her loving daughter, Cathleen James Hundt of Merrillville; brother-in-law, George Mildred Ross, Sr. of Crown Point; and nephews: George Sharon Ross of Crown Point and William Ross of Muncie. Preceded in death by husband, Donald R. Eaton in 1995; parents, Helen & Carl Davis; and sister, Betty Ross. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 AM directly at First Presbyterian Church of Merrillville, 7898 Taft Street, with Rev. William Hudson officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family Sunday, August 30th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville and on Monday, August 31st directly at the Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
