Hans T. Helton Jr.

October 15, 1943 - November 8, 2009

Hans T. Helton Jr. “Butch”, age 66, of Hebron, IN, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the University of Chicago Hospital. He is survived by his sister, Sue Tim VanderTuuk of Hebron; brother, Marty Helton of Highland, IN; grandchildren, Erin Chris Shoup and Cameron Wietbrock; step-daughter, Vicki Shane Wietbrock; nieces, Jane Jeff Cleland, Vanessa Helton and Beverly Dan Sawyer; nephews, Tim Wendy VanderTuuk and Douglas Sonja VanderTuuk; many great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Dixie Helton and brother, Jerome Helton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre NOTE: NEW LOCATION- 2 blocks east of Broadway at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN with Rev. Elizabeth Kaznak officiating. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre in Crown Point, IN. Hans was retired from V & H Excavating in Hebron, IN, a member of the Teamsters Local #142 and an Army Veteran. My thoughts and prayers are with you.He was like a brother to me and I have many fond memories of him even though we lost contact with each other..I still think of him often.

My condolences to the Helton family. I remember sharing the highway with Butch. He was always very friendly and supported me as a woman truck driver. He will be missed.
