GORDON MINAS, age 92, a lifelong resident of Crown Point, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
He is survived by children: Theresa (John) Crawford, Robert (Jennifer) Minas, David Swallow, Mary (Tony) Forbes, Michael (Jayne) Swallow, daughter-in-law Nancy Swallow; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife Mary; daughter Christine Cisarik; son Dennis Swallow; and brother John Minas.
Mr. Minas was a life member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crown Point. He was a graduate of Crown Point High School, Class of 1943 and received his B.S. degree from Purdue University, where he was a member of Beta Sigma Psi. He was a retired mechanical engineer from Inland Steel with over 40 years of service. Gordon was a WW II Army veteran, a member and past Commander of American Legion Post #20, a past 1st District Commander, a life member of 40/8 Voiture, and was recently able to go on a Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service (811 E. Franciscan Dr., Crown Point) on Monday from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. DIRECTLY from Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (250 S. Indiana Ave., Crown Point) with Rev. David Kipp officiating. There will be visitation at church ½ hour prior to services. At rest Maplewood Memorial Cemetery.
