GERALD ALLEN CARPENTER, age 70 of New Chicago; formerly of Portage, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021.

 

He is survived by his two brothers: Terry (Sandy) Carpenter and G. Kevin (Kim) Carpenter; sister-in-law Joanne Carpenter; brother-in-law Alan Coslet; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and good friends.  Preceded in death by his parents George & Margaret Carpenter and his siblings: William Carpenter, Larry Carpenter and Debbie Coslet.

 

Gerald was a graduate of Portage High School, Class of 1969, where he was an avid sportsman on the football, baseball and track teams.  He was a truck driver for 23 years and then went on to work as a carpenter, where he was a “jack-of-all” trades.  Gerald was an avid sports fan and loved all the games.  He loved to play golf and spend his time with his family and friends.  He will be greatly missed.

 

Private cremations services were held for his family.
