GEORGE K. VASILAKIS age 68 of Merrillville formerly of Chicago passed away Saturday January 31 2009. Survived by 4 children: Deanna (Edward) Riveron of Merrillville Christina (Craig) Vasilakis-Barnes of Forest Park IL Steven (Tzumei) Vasilakis of Plainfield IL & Elena Vasilakis of Merrillville 5 grandchildren: Eddie Tanya & Christopher Riveron and Constantine & Chloe Vasilakis former wife JoAnne Vasilakis and several nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Georges passion in life was for watercolor artistry. After graduating from the American Academy of Art in Chicago he worked and retired as a commercial artist for the Chicago Tribune and also did the advertising artwork for the Treasure Island Grocery Stores in Chicago. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville on Wednesday from 2-8 P.M. with a prayer service at 5:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 5 2009 at 10:00 A.M. from the Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Rev. Timothy Prowse officiating. At rest Mt. Olive Cemetery Chicago. In lieu of flowers memorial preferred to the family.

Deanna and Chris Please accept my condolences on the loss of your father. I always thought that he had a great sense of humor about him. It was fun working with him when we painted and redid your kitchen Chris. He was such a teaser. Even though hell be missed Im glad that he is no longer suffering. Sorry that I cannot attend the services. Youre both in my thoughts.
