GEORGE JANDA, age 85 of Hobart, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016.
Survived by wife of 37 years, Diana; three children: Elizabeth (Dan) Weldon, David (Heather) Janda, Bruce Janda; four grandchildren: Zachary and Jessica Weldon, Riley and Alyssa Janda; sister, Betty Coleman; brother, Gerald (late Judith) Janda; sister-in-law, Louise Janda; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Pete and Betty Janda; brothers: Tony, Rudolph, and Jim Janda.
George was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Merrillville. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. George was a retired technician from Union Carbide Co. and Marbon Chemical Co. with 38 years of service. He was a graduate of Tolleston High School.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow promptly at 12:00 noon from Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Rev. Michael Maginot officiating. At rest Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Memorials preferred to Wounded Warriors Project.
