GEORGE E. RONGERS, age 64 of Hebron, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013. Survived by two daughters, Tracy (Chris) Rongers Skrivan and Tina Rongers, both of Valparaiso; four grandchildren: Alexandria, Brianna, Conner, Diana; two brothers: James (Rita) Rongers of GA, Richard Rongers of CA; caregiver and close friend, Penny Golden; former wife, Carla McGann; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Catherine Rongers; brother, Frank Rongers; son, Anthony Rongers; two wives: Linda Jurcik Patton, Judith Bania-Rongers. George was a retired machinist from the Machine Shop, Gary Works, U.S. Steel, with 35 years of service, and was a member of USWA #1014. He was a graduate of Merrillville High School, Class of 1966. George was an avid sailor and docked his boat at Michigan City Marina. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, April 15, 2013 from Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Rev. Kevin McCarthy officiating. At rest Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
