FREDERICK “FRED” B. PORTER, age 68 of Hobart, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Murrysville, PA to the late John B. Porter and Liberty H. Wyble. Fred was also preceded in death by his older brothers John “Jack” Porter and Harry H. Porter. He is survived by wife Paulette M. (nee Murchek) Porter; son Brett E. (Robyn) Porter; daughter Megan V. (Tony) Valentino; son Zachary Porter; three grandchildren: Nolan Porter, Giovanni and Gioia Valentino. Fred was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Hobart Lodge #1152 and served in several offices, with his five year Trustee office being the longest. He enjoyed golfing and belonged to the Hobart Elks Golf League. He spent 40 years working for the food service industry in sales. A memorial service for family and friends will take place at the Hobart Elks Lodge #1152 (3580 W. 61st Ave., Hobart) on Thursday, April 9, 2015 begining with an Elks service at 6:00 P.M. and continuing with Rev. Charles Strietelmeier officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Foundation or to American Cancer Society.
