Florence H. Hasprunar

Florence H. Hasprunar nee Maginot age 86 of Merrillville, IN passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009 at her home. She is survived by her loving son: John Carolyn of Merrillville, loving daughter, Linda Hasprunar of Merrillville, granddaughters Jennifer Andrew Matanic of Walkerton and Jill Jerry Gordon of Indianapolis, great grandson Nathan Matanic, brother-in-law Jim Smitka, sister-in-laws Florence and Dorothy Maginot, and animals Shelby, Chops, Bear, Rosco, Spike, and kittens. Florence is preceded in death by her husband John M. Hasprunar, parents George and Clara Maginot, sisters Marie Lawrence Kline, Josephine Clarence Scheidt, and Lorraine Smitka, brothers George Jr. and Joe Maginot. Funeral Prayers will be said on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 9:30 AM at Geisen Funeral Home 7905 Broadway Merrillville, IN followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church 8303 Taft St. Merrillville, IN with Fr. Joseph Vamos officiating. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Florence was born in 1923. She married her husband John at the age of twenty one and she loved listening to him play music. Florence was an avid farmer and animal lover and she spent thirty-five years as the leader of the Ross Blue Ribbon 4-H Club.
