Evelyn Kramer, age 68, of Michigan City, died Sunday, December 6 at her home in Michigan City. There will be no services. Mrs. Kramer was born March 20, 1941 in Michigan City to Ara K. and Martha (Zimmerman) Smith, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters Betsy (Henry) McGinnis and Debby (Doug) Foldenauer, both of Michigan City, grandchildren Sierra McGinnis and Zachary Foldenauer, brother Harold (Gloria) Smith of San Antonio, TX and niece Angie (Brian) Kniola of Michigan City. Mrs. Kramer had formerly taught at Queen of All Saints School for many years, she most recently was the assistant manager with the Royal Doulton store. She loved animals, especially her cats. She enjoyed crafts and gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Sweet, sweet Evelyn. One of my classmates from kindergarten, Marsh School through high school, Isaac C. Elston Sr. High. Evelyn was a wonderful, caring, loving person - I will never forget all the fun times we had - especially during elementary school years. I was a classmate and a member of our little "group" in high school. We had many fun parties and teased Eveyln of having to be so good since she was the superintendent's daughter. She was so kind and sweet. Your Mom was a wonderful person and I'm glad I got to see her again while I was in Michigan City for our 50th reunion this past summer.

I'm another one of the "girls of 59'" from Elston High School. I'm so glad to have had a visit with Evelyn this summer. She was in good spirits. I loved hearing about her daughters and grandchildren. Evelyn was one of my bridesmaids. A good buddy in high school and we started Purdue together. Really fond memories of a very sweet friend. Her dad was MC's best ever superintendent.
