EUGENE A. TOMPI, age 86 of Portage, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. Survived by wife of 59 years, Mary Ann; children: David (Mary) Tompi, Kathy (Jim) Teso, and John (Patty) Tompi; four grandchildren: Allison Teso, Alexandra, Amanda, and Addison Tompi; two step-granddaughters. Preceded in death by his parents George & Anna Tompi. Mr. Tompi was a member of Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church in New Chicago and a former member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a retired millwright from #3 Cold Strip at Inland Steel with 40 years of service after retiring in 1988. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 DIRECTLY from Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 3530 Illinois St., Hobart (New Chicago) with Rev.
