Esther B. Halfman nee Huseman age 89, of Crown Point, IN passed away Monday, June 28, 2004 at Brookside Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by her husband Fred Halfman of 63 years One Daughter: Sara Halfman of Fremont, CA Three Sons: Timothy Jeanne Halfman of Birmingham, AL Gregory Carol Halfman of Pismo Beach, CA Martin Tina Halfman of Fountain Hills, AZ 4 Grandchildren: Ashley Halfman of Washington, D.C. Capt. Carter Halfman of Bagdad, Iraq 1st Calvary Division Tate & Cole Halfman of Pismo Beach, Calif. One Sister: Leona Lump of Lowell Two Brothers: William Huseman of Lowell Leo Huseman of Brookston, IN She was preceded in Death by: Sister: Dorothy Neises Brother:Gene Huseman Funeral service will be held Friday, July 2, 2004 at 9:15 AM from Geisen Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Matthias Catholic Church, with Fr. Terry Steffens officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Crown Point, IN Friends may call at Geisen Funeral Home, 109 N. East St., Crown Point on Thursday, July 1, 2004 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Vigil Service at 5:00 PM Mrs. Halfman was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Essie was a long time member of the Riley Home Economics Club and a leader of the Riley 4-H Club. She was a Den Mother in Cub Scouts and a Volunteer at the Lutheran Home. She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, camping, playing pinochle with friends and traveling with her children and grandchildren. Memorials may be given to The American Cancer Society or St. Matthias Catholic Church.

I will always remember Essie as a very warm, loving person with a wonderful smile. She was my confirmation sponsor. She was a long time friend of our family for many years. She will be greatly missed by all of us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Esther always brighten our day whenever we talked to her. My mother, Josie Seegers, would be very saddened by this news.
